Will be out of EU by October 31, come what may: British PM Johnson

PM Boris Johnson on Wednesday again reiterated that Britain will be out of the European Union "by October 31 come what may".

Johnson began his speech by paying tribute to his predecessor former prime minister Theresa May who had fronted the Brexit agreement for several months.

"We will be out of EU by October 31 come what may," the British prime minister said, adding, "even though things have not been made easier by the "surrender bill", we will work for a deal with our EU friends." 

"Let's get Brexit done by October 31," he told party workers.

As he began his speech, Johnson jocked "if the Parliament were a laptop, then the screen would be showing the pizza wheel on a doom." 

"I have kept the ace up my sleeve - my mother voted leave."

"We will respect the Good Friday Agreement," the British prime minister asserted. 

"I am ready for no-deal Brexit outcome," he said, adding the delay was "pointless"

"Brexit will bring a lot of opportunities," he told party men at the conference. 

The United Kingdom is set to exit the EU on October 31, however, several hurdles remain as the European body and Britain look to come up with an exit plan.

Ahead of PM Johnson's speech, EU officials had said the British proposal was "fundamentally flawed", Reuters reported.
