US President Donald Trump has said that he is pleased that the United States tops the list in terms of coronavirus cases in the world. On Monday, Donald Trump said he views it as "badge of honour".
He said: "By the way, you know when you say that we lead in cases, that's because we have more testing than anybody else.
"So when we have a lot of cases, I don't look at that as a bad thing, I look at that as, in a certain respect, as being a good thing because it means our testing is much better.
"So I view it as a badge of honour. Really, it's a badge of honour.
"It's a great tribute to the testing and all of the work that a lot of professionals have done."
Earlier, US President Donald Trump said on Tuesday he is considering imposing a ban on travel from Brazil, which has the world's third-highest number of people infected by the novel coronavirus.
Responding to a question over whether he would institute a travel ban on Brazil, Trump said, "We are considering it. We hope that we are not going to have a problem."
"I don't want people coming over here and infecting our people. I don't want people over there sick either. We're helping Brazil with ventilators. ... Brazil is having some trouble, no question about it," Trump added.
