US embassy will open in Jerusalem next year: US vice president Mike Pence
US vice president Mike Pence said today that the US embassy will move from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem next year.
The vice president said the US embassy will open "by end of 2019".
On Iran, the US vice president said: "US will never allow Iran to have a nuclear weapon."
President Trump last month had recognised Jerusalem as the capital of Isreal which triggered large-scale violence in West Asia.
Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu while talking to reporters on US moving its embassy to Jerusalem during his visit to India had said: "My solid assessment is that it will go much faster than you think - within a year from now."
Although US Secretary of State Rex Tillerson had said last month that the move could take at least "three years", indicating that Trump's term would be at an end by then.
