<p>The suspect in the shooting of a US consular official in Mexico&#39;s western city of Guadalajara has been arrested, Mexican officials have told news agencies.</p>

<p>The identity of the suspect, who is an American, was not released, and authorities did not comment on a possible motive for the attack.</p>

<p>Mexican authorities said the US official, who has not been identified, is now in stable condition. The US Federal Bureau of Investigation had offered a reward of $20,000 for information to help identify and arrest the shooter.</p>

<p>A video posted online by the consulate in Guadalajara showed the shooter appearing to wait for the official&#39;s car to pull up at a car park barrier before shooting directly at the driver and running away.&nbsp;Authorities also released video of the suspect walking down a hallway and around a white van, where his face was more clearly visible.</p>
