US President Donald Trump Monday spoke about "America First National Strategy" primarily aimed at establishing and strengthening ties with key allies in order to face "an extraordinarily dangerous world, filled with a wide range of threats".

He mentioned India's significant role in the strategy supporting India's leadership role in the Indo-Pacific region.

Trump targeted Russia complaining about the country's meddling stance on global political affairs.

“Through modernized forms of subversive tactics, Russia interferes in the domestic political affairs of countries around the world,” said the official statement.

Trump also expressed his thoughts on "deepening strategic partnerships with India".

Turning to Pakistan, Trump called for stringent initiatives required for the country to take to tackle terrorism and militant activism.

He welcomed India's emergence as a "leading global power" and hoped to see the country as a strategic and defence partner.

Trump also spoke on strengthening quadrilateral cooperation with Japan, Australia, and India.
