Trump says summit back on but who will pay for Kim's hotel room? 

Trump announced early Saturday morning that his summit with North Korean leader Kim Jong-Un was back on. 

He made his announcement after meeting at the White House with Kim's right-hand man Kim Yong Chol. 

Chol delivered a letter from Kim to Trump, after which Trump said the summit was back on. 

Trump had only last week called off the summit citing "open hostility" from Kim

Trump and Kim will now be meeting — as planned earlier — on June 12 in Singapore. 

News reports said the two sides — the US and North Korea — are currently and furiously planning the summit on an island resort off Singapore. 

The reports said the discussions between the two sides are being spearheaded by the White House deputy chief of staff Joe Hagin and Kim's de-facto chief of staff, Kim Chang Son. 

One of the questions the two sides are grappling with is: Who is going to pay for Kim's hotel room? 

The reports said North Korea would like for Kim to be put up at Singapore's Fullerton hotel, described as a magnificient neoclassical hotel where just one presidential suite costs more than Rs 4 lakh a night.

The reports added that the US is open to paying Kim's bills but that North Korea might view that as an insult. 

The compromise that is then reportedly being worked out is that the US might ask Singapore — the host nation — to pay for Kim's room.
