Follow UsA former North Carolina staffer for Donald Trump's presidential campaign is claiming in a lawsuit that its then-state director pulled a gun on him.
The lawsuit was filed on Wednesday.
Vincent Bordini, an IT worker for Trump’s North Carolina operation, said he decided to file the lawsuit after the campaign failed to act on the matter.
Bordini said he reported the incident to several Trump campaign officials with no result. The lawsuit names Phillip and the Trump campaign as defendants.
According to the lawsuit, state director, Earl Phillip pressed a gun into Bordini’s kneecap on a trip to South Carolina for a February campaign event.
“Phillip’s gun was loaded and the safety was off. A bump in the road would likely result in a bullet hole, and worse, in Vincent’s knee,” the lawsuit claimed.
“Phillip put the gun away as if nothing had happened. Phillip drove and didn’t talk about it again. Petrified, Vincent kept his mouth shut,” the lawsuit states.
Bordini did not file criminal charges, fearing the move would negatively impact Trump’s campaign.
Bordini resigned from his post in March and hasn't volunteered with the campaign since.
