Trump, who headed to South Korea after attending the G20 Summit in Osaka, Japan, met North Korean leader Kim Jong-un today.

US President Donald Trump is known for his slapstick humour and off-hand comments. On Sunday, the US president went on to launch another remark, this time involving his daughter Ivanka Trump and Secretary of State Mike Pompeo.

He referred to Ivanka and Pompeo as a "beautiful couple" while calling them on stage.

Trump called both of them "beauty and the beast" while speaking at the Osan Air Base in Pyeongtaek, South Korea, earlier today.

In a video shared by news agency ANI, Ivanka and Pompeo could be seen cracking up in laughter while approaching the stage.

Trump, who headed to South Korea after attending the G20 Summit in Osaka, Japan, met North Korean leader Kim Jong-un today at the Demilitarized Zone (DMZ) between the two Korean nations.

He crossed over to North Korea, becoming the first US president to do so. Trump even agreed to resume stalled nuclear talks with North Korea.

The meeting, initiated by a spur-of-the-moment tweet by Trump that Kim said took him by surprise, once again displayed the rapport between the two.

"To cross that line was a great honour," Trump said, referring to his brief incursion into the North Korean side of the DMZ. "It's a great day for the world."

"I was surprised to see you expressed an intent to meet," Kim told Trump, referring to Trump's offer for a meeting in a tweet on Saturday.
