Strong dissatisfaction at US smearing: China on alleged coronavirus vaccine hacking

China's foreign ministry expressed "strong dissatisfaction" after the United States alleged that Chinese hackers were attempting to steal research on developing a vaccine against coronavirus.  

"China expresses strong dissatisfaction and firm opposition to such smearing," China's foreign ministry spokesman Zhao Lijian said.

The ministry said that it has achievements of its own to fight COVID-19.

"Judging from past records, the US has carried out the largest cybertheft operations worldwide," Zhao added.

Two US security agencies - the FBI and Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA) had said that "China's efforts to target these sectors pose a significant threat to our nation's response to COVID-19."

However, the US investigative agencies did not forward any evidence for their claim.

US Preident Trump has hit out against China openly declaring that the country did not warn authorities earlier even as Chinese officials hit back saying the virus could have been spread by the US military in Wuhan.

Trump has ofent called it the "Wuhan virus", while taking the WHO who the US president said has a "China bais".
