After allegedly viewing a video of his 8-year-old daughter being raped by an acquaintance, a father in Russia has been lauded as a "hero" for killing his pal.
The factory worker Vyacheslav, 34, was drinking with his longtime friend Oleg Sviridov, 32 when he watched the harrowing footage on Sviridov's phone.
He quickly confronted Sviridov, who fled before he could react, according to news.com.au, an Australian news website.
Before knifing the paedophile who abused his daughter, the distraught father made him dig his own grave.
Sviridov had been Vyacheslav's long-time friend and godfather to the little girl, who was now nine and had cared about her on his several times.
Videos showing him assaulting other young victims were also discovered on the phone, one of whom was purportedly identified as his previous live-in partner's daughter.
