Russian President Vladimir Putin held talks with French President Emmanuel Macron on Iran nuclear deal and the prevailing situation in Syria on Tuesday.

The two leaders discussed the matter over the phone and assured their commitment to the 2015 nuclear deal with Iran.

The talks have come ahead of the Economic Forum meeting scheduled for next week in Russia where the two leaders will hold the meeting.

Meanwhile, the Russian Acting Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov had said that the Iran Nuclear Deal can be discussed without the participation of United States. He also called the US decision on Iran as "rash".He further said that for the continuation of the deal it was important for Tehran to make concessions.

US President Donald Trump pulled the United States out of an international agreement that aimed at stopping Iran from obtaining a nuclear bomb, earlier this month.
