Porn actress Stormy Daniels physically threatened over Trump: Lawyer
Adult film actress Stormy Daniels was physically threatened and warned to remain silent about her relationship with President Donald Trump, her lawyer said on Friday.
Attorney Michael Avenatti would not provide details about the threat against Stephanie Clifford, who uses Stormy Daniels as her professional name. He said Clifford would elaborate on it during a CBS "60 Minutes" interview broadcast on March 25.
"My client was physically threatened to stay silent about what she knew about Donald Trump," he said.
Pornstar Stormy Daniels will go to court on July 12 in a bid to dissolve an agreement stopping her discussing an affair she says she had with President Donald Trump, according to court papers published Wednesday.
Lawyer Michael Avenatti filed a lawsuit on behalf of Daniels last week seeking to toss out the confidential settlement she signed just days before the November 2016 election.
The lawsuit alleges that Daniels began an "intimate relationship" with Trump in the summer of 2006 that continued well into 2007.
A copy of the settlement filed in court shows that Daniels received the $130,000 from a company known as Essential Consultants LLC in return for her silence.
Daniels is also asking to be allowed to publish text messages, photos and videos relating to the president, Avenatti said in a letter to Trump's lawyer Michael Cohen.
"I think it's time for her to tell her story and for the public to decide who's telling the truth," Avenatti said last week.
While Daniels denied the alleged affair with the President previously, Trump continued to rubbish the allegations. The US President won the lawsuit last week, a day after Daniels sued seeking to invalidate a "hush agreement" she signed with Trump's lawyer.
Michael Cohen, who has been with the Trump organisation for almost 10 years arranged the money for the actress, Stephanie Clifford aka Stormy Daniels, in October 2016.
As per reports, Trump and Clifford had the encounter in Lake Tahoe, California, in 2006, a year after he married his third wife, Melania.
