North Korea willing to hold summit with US: Kim Jong Un

A South Korean news agency reported Kim's visit to China which started from Sunday and ended on Wednesday.

North Korea's supreme leader Kim Jong Un confirmed on Wednesday his willingness to hold a summit with Washington. Kim's statement came while he was on a surprise visit to China where he held talks with his Chinese counterpart President Xi Jinping in Beijing.

"The DPRK is willing to have a dialogue with the United States and hold a summit of the two countries," Kim was cited by a leading Chinese news agency. 

Kim Jong Un's visit to China came to an end on Wednesday. A South Korean news agency reported Kim's visit to China which started on Sunday. Kim was in China along with his wife, Ri Sol Ju. 

Improving ties between North Korea and China would be a positive sign before planned summits involving the two Koreas and the United States, a senior South Korean official said on Tuesday.
