New Hampshire Powerball player wins $570 million jackpot

A Powerball lottery ticket matched all six number to yield a whopping $570 million jackpot to a player in New Hampshire, United States. 

The total cash value of the jackpot is estimated to be at least $300 million. 

The winning numbers were 12, 29, 30, 33, 61 and Powerball 26.

Tickets for Powerball and Powerball Power Play are sold at $2 and $3 respectively.

"Sales cut-off timings vary by one to two hours before the drawings on Wednesday and Saturday evenings at 10.59pm EST," notes the official website. 

The lottery is not restricted to US citizens. "Players outside the country can purchase Powerball tickets from a retailer licensed/authorised by the selling jurisdiction," reads the Powerball website.

The Powerball lottery jackpot was the second mammoth win for an America after a Lotto player in Florida won $450 million Mega Millions jackpot on Friday. 

Powerball and Mega Millions are the biggest lottery games in the United States. 

The odds of winning the Powerball's jackpot are 1 to 292.2 million.
