The name of the newborn baby of Tesla CEO Elon Musk and singer Grimes may not be valid in California.
Although netizens went crazy after the 48-year-old named his baby boy X AE A-12, the unusual name can fall foul of Californian state rules.
According to the state's constitution, names can only use the 26 alphabetical characters of the English language. It doesn't allow symbols and diacritical marks.
This make X Æ A-12 Musk ''unacceptable''. It's possible it won't appear on the baby's official California birth certificate, at least not in the spelling that's been shared so far.
Earlier, Musk said in a podcast that human language will be ''obsolete'' in 10 years, after he struggled to pronounce his newborn's name.
The Canadian musician Grimes, whose real name is Claire Elise Boucher, had explained the meaning of each character of her baby's name in a Tweet.
