The COVID-19 pandemic has cast its shadow over most of the celebrations and festivals. With movement restricted and lockdown imposed -- people are largely confined to their homes.

 However, on the occasion of mother's day people around the world celebrated their bit to give the birth givers a tribute.

On the occasion of mother's day, two leading flower growers from Colombia launched a campaign to sell 25 thousand bouquets with export quality roses.

Money from the campaign will be donated to buy food for families affected by the COVID-19 pandemic.

Health workers and doctors in a  COVID-19 hospital in Peru's capital Lima celebrated mother's day with balloons & cakes to give tribute to the birth givers.

Doctors and nurses danced to cheer the patients staying in the care centre set up by the government to treat the patients.

Thousands of people queued around the MacArthur Park area of downtown Los Angeles to pick up provisions from a food bank ahead of mother's day.

Ron Herrera, the president of the Los Angeles County Federation of Labor said that this distribution was specifically for the mothers to help them gather meal for their families amid the pandemic.
