Amid tensions with Russia, US President Joe Biden said that "if Russia invades then there will be no longer a Nord Stream 2."

To boost defences, US approves $100 million support deal with Taiwan

To boost Taiwan’s defences against an increasingly aggressive China, the Biden administration has approved a $100 million support contract with the government of the island. It includes the sale of equipment and services.  

China study says easing curbs in Covid zero areas will cause 2 million deaths

According to Chinese researchers if normal mobility is allowed in "COVID-zero" regions then the country could witness nearly 2 million deaths in a year.

Schools open in Vietnam, more to open by middle of month

Vietnam opened most of its schools on Monday (February 7) to welcome 17 million students across the country. Country's health ministry announced plans to start vaccinating children five-years and older against Covid. Most of the Covid curbs in the country were lifted in October but almost all students were taking online classes since last year.
