On International Women's Day, McDonald's flips its golden arches

American fast-food giant McDonald's flipped its logo from 'M' to 'W' in order to honour women across the world on International Women's day in Lynwood, California.

Media reports quoting McDonald's global chief diversity officer Wendy Lewis said that for the first time in history they flipped their iconic arches to honour extraordinary accomplishments of women everywhere.

The fast-food chain will change its logo on their social media platform as well.

The logo on McDonald's official website has also been flipped to W.

Initially, the people passing through Lynwood noticed the flipped sign and thought it's a prank.

The company also announced that 100 McDonald's restaurant will have special crew shirts and hats with bags.
