Mark Zuckerberg's sister alleges sexual assault on Alaska Airlines flight

Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg's sister Randi Zuckerberg has accused a fellow passenger on an Alaska Airlines flight of sexually harassing her. 

The businesswoman and best-selling author of DotComplicated claimed that she felt disgusted and degraded and posted a copy of the letter she sent to the airlines, on Twitter. 

Zuckerberg tweeted: "Feeling disgusted & degraded after an @AlaskaAir flight where the passenger next to me made repeated lewd sexual remarks. The flight attendants told me he was a frequent flier, brushed off his behaviour & kept giving him drinks. I guess his $ means more than our safety? My letter:"

She mentioned in the letter that she was in a 'very uncomfortable situation' after the fellow passenger made 'explicit, lewd and highly offensive sexual comments' to her immediately after boarding the flight.' 

She described how the man talked about 'touching himself, kept asking her if she fantasized about female business colleagues she was travelling with, rated and commented on women's bodies boarding the aircraft as they walked by and other such horrifying and offensive comments.'

What was shocking was how the airline staff reacted to Zuckerberg's complaint. 

According to her letter, the flight attendant said that 'the guy was a frequent Alaska Airlines traveller on the exact route and that they have talked to him about his behaviour in the past. '
They further told her to 'not take it personally as the guy does not have a filter'. 

According to the letter, the flight attendant came to their seat multiple times and sweetly asked the passenger with a giggle "Are you behaving today?" 

Upon telling the flight attendant that she was uncomfortable, they suggested her to move her seat at the back of the plane.

She furiously lashed out "Why should I have to move?" she said. "I am the one that is being harassed! Why is it the woman that needs to switch seats in this situation? Shouldn't he have been thrown off the plane?!"

The letter further mentions how Alaska Airlines knowingly and willingly provided the man with a platform to harass women. 

Since sharing the letter on twitter it has been retweeted over 12,000 times.

After the letter was sent, the Airline got in touch with her. Zuckerberg tweeted later that day "UPDATE: I just got off the phone with two executives from @AlaskaAir who informed me that they are conducting an investigation and have temporarily suspended this passenger’s travel privileges. Thank you for taking this seriously."
