Live US election 2016: Trump leads in Indiana, Kentucky; Clinton ahead in Vermont

Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump is leading in three states -- Indiana, Kentucky and New Hampshire -- while his rival Hillary Clinton is projected to win Vermont.

As of 7 pm EST (5.30 am Indian Standard Time), Donald Trump leads 65 per cent to Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton's 31 per cent in Indiana, with 3.6 per cent votes counted.

In Kentucky, Trump enjoys nearly 35 per cent lead over Clinton.

Clinton, meanwhile, is projected to win Vermont.

Indiana and Kentucky are traditional Republican strongholds.

In New Hampshire, with one per cent votes counted, Trump has bagged 52.5 per cent of votes, while Hillary Clinton has 41 per cent.
