Story highlights

Pakistan is set to rake up the Kashmir issue at the 42nd session of the United Nations Human Rights Council(UNHRC) at Geneva in Switzerland.

Pakistan foreign minister Qureshi will be speaking at the UNHRC meeting in which he is expected to rant on Kashmir, the issue however hasn't resonated with the world community despite Pakistan's best efforts.

India is set to take on Pakistan at the council with a high powered delegation led by Secretary (East) Vijay Thakur Singh and Indian envoy to Pakistan Ajay Bisaria.

The Indian government has consistently maintained that abrogation of Article 370 is an internal matter, however, Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan has taken up the matter with several world leaders, but hasn't received any support.

The UNHRC is made of 47 member states, which are elected by the majority of members of the General Assembly of the United Nations through a direct and secret ballot.
