Corbyn thanked his family members in general and his wife in particular for all she has had put up with, especially because of the attacks from the media.

UK Labour Party leader Jeremy Corbyn on Friday said that he will not be leading his party into another election after a crushing defeat in one of the most important elections in Britain's history as the country prepares to leave European Union.

''Pressure on people in public life is high and the attacks on people in public life are disgusting,'' the Labour Party leader was quoted as saying by several media.

Corbyn thanked his family members and his wife for all ''she has had put up with, especially because of the attacks from the media''.

It has been a “very disappointing night” for Labour Party, he said and added that his party had put forward a manifesto of hope and the party’s policies were popular.

He quipped that the Brexit has polarised debate.

''I will not lead the party in any future general election campaign and a discussion will take place as to what happens next,'' he added.
