Iranian President Hassan Rouhani on Friday reacted to the ban on popular messaging application Telegram.

On Monday, Iran's internet service providers were asked by the judiciary to block access to the app.

The application was seen as a tool in instigating nationwide protests that sparked off in December and January. The application was temporarily blocked to curb the protests and demonstrations.

In an Instagram post shared on Friday night, Rouhani stated that the Iranian government did not block any social networking websites or messaging app and it won't any as well.
