'November 4 sees a new injustice from the Americans, the people should know with certainty that the government has no fear of American threats', Rohani said ahead of the imposition of new US sanctions.

Iran President Hassan Rouhani on Wednesday said his country had no fear of the new US sanction which was due to take effect in the coming days.

"November 4 sees a new injustice from the Americans, the people should know with certainty that the government has no fear of American threats", Rohani said ahead of the imposition of new US sanctions.

Rouhani also warned that the country will have to face hard times when new US sanctions take effect on Sunday assuring that the government would do its best to alleviate them from the crisis.

"In the past few months our people have faced difficult times and it's possible that the next few months will be difficult. But the government will use all its power to reduce these problems", he said.

The United States plans to impose sanctions targeting Iran's oil sector on November 4.

The US has already reimposed a number of sanctions on Iran in May after pulling out of a multilateral 2015 deal intended to curb the Islamic Republic's nuclear program.

Following the imposition of the sanctions, the Iranian rial had hit record lows against the US dollar in recent months. The cost of living had also soared in recent months.

The sanctions had also resulted in demonstrations against profiteering and corruption in which protesters have chanted anti-government slogans.

To counter the consequences of the sanctions, Iran began selling crude oil to private companies for export on Sunday.
