I am too busy to be running around buying gifts: Trump on not getting Melania birthday present

US President Donald Trump makes headlines almost every day but the world of social media loves it when it is for all the wrong reasons.

Whether it was Trump getting caught on camera trying to hold the First Lady's hand during their visit to Israel last year (and later getting a swat on his hand by lady Trump) or the recent incident when a leading American news channel captured his relentless effort of trying to hold Melania's hand at a state arrival ceremony -- gossipmongers love to feed on such stuff. 

This time around we turn the spotlight on the fact that the US President keeps so busy that he can actually skip getting a birthday gift to Melania. 

In an interview to Fox News, the 71-year-old admitted keeping too busy to be able to get his wife a birthday present.

In a telephonic conversation with the news channel, Trump laughed at the question and noted that he didn't get her much on her 48th birthday except for some flowers and a card. Maybe he likes to keep it sweet and simple! 

"Well, I better not get into that 'cause I may get in trouble. Maybe I didn't get her so much."

He later chuckled and said that he keeps too busy to be running around buying gifts and presents. We wonder what the First Lady has to say on that.

In what can some say an attempt to mend the damage, Trump lauded his wife for her "fantastic" planning of state dinner honouring France this Tuesday, yes, the same event where he got the most recent hand-swating by the wifey.
