How South Koreans reacted to the summit between leaders of rival Koreas

The North Korea leader Kim Jong Un, in one of the historic move, crossed the southern border to hold a summit with South Korean President Moon Jae-In on Friday.

The meeting which is being held after over a decade aims to discuss denuclearisation and exchanges between the two countries. The residents of the two countries are, however, cynical about the favourable outcomes of the meeting. 

Citing previous promises of the North Korean leader, the people from South Korea expressed their doubt over the leader's promise. 

They also believe that the two countries should not think about unifying at this stage as maintaining peace in the region should be the top priority. 

 Similar to South Koreans, people from North Korea have also expressed doubts about Kim Jong Un's promise. 

A North Korea activist said that Kim came out for the meeting because he had no other choice as everyone including Russia and China are pressuring North Korea.

North Koreans also believe that the Kim will never change and the people of the country need to change their leadership.

However, some also feel that the meeting shows a change of mindset in the North Korean leader. 

The two leaders will dine together for talks at Friday's summit.
