Loyal supporters of Donald Trump in House of Representatives have nominated the US President's name for Nobel Peace Prize.

The members from House of Representatives have sent a letter to the Norwegian Nobel Committee for their proposal.

The nomination was headed by Indiana's Rep. Luke Messer, who is locked in a fierce GOP primary battle in the Hoosier State for a Senate seat.Besides Messer, other members endorsing the proposal are Freedom Caucus leader Rep. Mark Meadows of North Carolina and Rep. Steve King of Iowa.

The members have advocated the nomination by stating that the President deserves the award because of his efforts to end the Korean War and ensuring peace in the peninsula.

Before Trump, four US Presidents have been bestowed with the award including Barack Obama, Theodore Roosevelt, Woodrow Wilson and Jimmy Carter.

While addressing a re-election rally in Michigan on Saturday, US President Donald Trump was welcomed with chants of "Nobel, Nobel" by the crowd. The crowd's chant was in response to Trump's discussion on his efforts in North Korea.
