Global COVID-19 tally crosses the 4 million mark

Wuhan has again reported fresh cases of coronavirus. US has more than 1.3 million cases.

The number of positive coronavirus cases globally has crossed the 4 million mark as the total cases reported are nearly 4,026,691.

As many as 276,894 people have lost their lives due to the deadly virus.

United States is one of the worst-hit countries by coronavirus. The total positive cases in America rose to 1,320,413, including 78,644 deaths.

Germany saw a sudden rise in the positive cases which increased the total tally to 168,049 and the total deaths to 7,327.

Italy and Spain are aiming to partially open the lockdown as the cases have slowed down, with Italy having total 217,185 positive, including 30,201 deaths, and Spain having 240,711 positive cases, including 26,299 deaths.

United Kingdom and Russia are struggling to contain the spread of virus as the number of cases rose to 211,364 (31,241 deaths) and 198,676 (1,827 deaths) respectively. However, few relaxations in the lockdown of the uK are expected soon.

After months of no new positive case, Wuhan, the alleged epicentre of the virus, has reported new positive cases, taking the total number of coronavirus cases to 82,887 and 4,633 fatalities.

A total of 201 countries have been infected by the virus in the past 6 months.
