British Prime Minister Boris Johnson was heckled on Friday by an audience member while he was delivering a speech at a convention in South Yorkshire in northern England.
The British PM was speaking on plans to give more powers to local authorities in the North of England during which the heckler interupted Johnson's speech for his decision to suspend parliament in the run-up to the Brexit deadline.
"I know the transformative potential of local accountable leadership. Someone with the power to sort out what matters most to local people," Johnson said when heckler interjeted and screamed, "Like our MPs Boris. Maybe get back to Parliament."
Johnson replied, "Yes, indeed. I'm all in favour of our MPs."
The unidentified man then demanded to know why the British prime minister wasn't in parliament fixing "the mess" he had created.
"Why are you not with them in parliament sorting out the mess that you have created," he said.
"I'm very happy to get back to parliament very soon" Johnson replied as he tried to return to his speech,
The heckler then again screamed, "Where's your accountability? Why don't you sort it out Boris, why don't you sort it out".
"What we want to see in this region is towns and communities able to represent that gentleman and sort out his needs," Johnson responded.
Johnson, a former London mayor who helped lead the campaign to leave the European Union, has angered his critics by suspending parliament for five weeks before Brexit.
The government has said it is a normal part of the process of launching a new legislative program, but Johnson's opponents have accused the prime minister of trying to prevent them scrutinising his Brexit plans.
Meanwhile, Johnson is scheduled to meet European Union chief Jean-Claude Juncker in Luxembourg on Monday as he bids to broker a Brexit compromise ahead of the October 31 deadline.
Johnson will "hold talks with President Juncker on Brexit," his Downing Street office had said without providing further details.
