Ryan Reynolds, Michael Bay and writers of 'Deadpool' to make a Netflix movie
Filmmaker Michael Bay is now teaming up with Deadpool star Ryan Reynolds for a Netflix film titled “Six Underground”. It will mark the first time the director and actor will be working with the streaming service.
With this, it will become the biggest movie push for the American entertainment company since “Bright”.
The movie will be a co-production between Netflix and Skydance Media. Skydance developed the movie and brought on the duo before going to Netflix to partner on the project, where it will serve as a co-financier and producer.
It reunites Ryan with his "Deadpool" and "Deadpool 2" writers Paul Wernick and Rhett Reese.
Production on "Six Underground" is slated to begin this summer for a worldwide release in 2019 on Netflix. The deal is another milestone for Netflix and film chief Scott Stuber as the studio continues to draw major talent. Netflix has been drawing more actors like Will Smith and Brad Pitt, but Bay is one of the first big-name directors to bring a tentpole to the studio.
