Prince Harry's fiance Meghan Markle was baptised into the Church of England in a secret ceremony at the Chapel Royal at St. James’s Palace On Tuesday evening.

The ceremony lasted 45 minutes and was conducted by the archbishop of Canterbury.

As per a report published in Daily Mail, Prince Harry was present at the ceremony while Meghan was baptised using the holy water from the River Jordan. The process brings the divorced American actress into the Anglican faith which is an important step ahead of her wedding due in May. The ceremony was closely guarded with only a few royal aides attending to it including  Prince Charles and the Duchess of Cornwall. The Queen and Prince William gave the ceremony a miss.

It was quickly followed by her confirmation ceremony, that allows her to join Prince Harry for Holy Communion. The full ceremony was conducted by Justin Welby.

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are set to get married on May 19 at St. George’s Chapel in the grounds of Windsor Castle.
