'Black Swan' actress Natalie Portman feared being objectified by men

Academy Award-winning actress Natalie Portman says she feared being objectified by men as a young teenager growing up in Hollywood. 

As reported by PTI, Portman, 36, felt "unsafe" if she expressed herself sexually. 

She said, "A countdown was started on my local radio show to my 18th birthday, euphemistically the date that I would be legal to sleep with."

She added, "Movie reviewers talked about my budding breasts in reviews. I understood very quickly, even as a 13-year-old, that if I were to express myself sexually I would feel unsafe and that men would feel entitled to discuss and objectify my body to my great discomfort."

Portman took to stage earlier this month at Golden Globes 2018 event to announce the nominations for Best Director -- in which she threw shade at the Hollywood Foreign Press Association that nominated only male directors for the coveted award.

Standing on the stage with Ron Howard she introduced the nominees as: "And here are all the male nominees" which left everyone aghast excluding a few who clapped hands at the indication and agreed with her on the subtle hint of inequality and prejudice at award functions. 

In  November last year, Portman said that she has "100 stories" on Hollywood's sexual misconduct problem.
