As Avengers: Infinity War released in China over the weekend, the film's earning has now made it the fifth highest grossing film in history.

The movie earned USD 61.8 million in US and Canada over the weekend and continued to remain the number one film at the box office in both these countries. The film also earned USD 281.3 million from international markets and the film's total earnings now stand at a whopping USD 1.6 billion making it the fifth highest-grossing film ever.

Now, it's only behind Jurassic World ($1.67 billion), Star Wars: The Force Awakens ($2.06 billion), Titanic ($2.18 billion), and Avatar ($2.78 billion), according to Box Office Mojo.

The film made USD 1 billion globally faster than any other film. Trade pundits state that the earnings will grow more in the coming weeks.

As the film opened in China earlier in the weekend, it earned USD 202 million. China is the world's second-biggest market for movies, and Infinity War's results in China show how big  Hollywood films are in the country.
