Donald Trump open to keeping certain parts of Obamacare
Follow UsUS President-elect Donald Trump told business daily the Wall Street Journal that he will consider an "amended" Obamacare on Friday.
The sudden shift comes after his meeting with President Barack Obama, who asked him to reconsider abolishing the Affordable Care Act (ACA).
"Either Obamacare will be amended, or repealed and replaced," Trump told the business daily.
"I told him I will look at his suggestions, and out of respect, I will do that," he added.
According to WSJ, Trump approved banning insurance companies which denied consumers coverage on the basis of so-called pre-existing conditions.
He also agreed with another Obamacare clause, which requires insurance companies to cover children on their parents insurance policies until the age of 26.

Trump also appeared to be committed on his promises of bringing jobs back through improved international trade deals and massive infrastructure investment, besides focusing on defeating Islamic State.
"I want a country that loves each other. I want to stress that," Trump said in his first interview after winning the November 8 presidential elections, in which he defeated Hillary Clinton after mounting one of the most divisive campaigns in recent memory.
