Chinese double amputee man successfully summits Everest

A double-amputee man from China successfully made to the summit of the Everest on Monday in his fifth attempt.
69-year-old, Xia Boyu, lost his legs almost four decades back to frostbite at the age of 25.
Boyu lived his long-cherished dream earlier on Monday around 8.30 am Nepal time. He summited the 8,848-metre peak from the Nepalese side.
According to reports, Boyu was guided by Mingma G Sherpa who has successfully summited 14 highest mountains in the world in his first attempt.

Nepalese government, last year, issued a blanket ban on a group of people who seek to climb the Everest. The ban covers people with disability, solo climbers and those below the age of 16.
New Zealand's Mark Inglis was the first double amputee to summit the world's highest mountain. He successfully reached Mount Everest from the Tibetan side in the year 2006.
