More than a dozen people linked hands to form a 20-meter human chain to rescue a mother and her two children who fell into a hole in a frozen lake in China's Tangshan City on Sunday.

One man even dived into the sub-zero water to save the family from drowning in the icy lake.

The other volunteers, both men and women, risked the ice collapsing below them as they held hands and walked out across the lake.

The incident took place when the three fell through an icy lake in a local culture park in the city, reports CGTN.
