China-Afghanistan-Pakistan to hold trilateral talks next week

Foreign ministers from Afghanistan, China and Pakistan are all set to hold talks in Beijing this Tuesday.

The trilateral talks -- to be held on December 26 -- will aim to enhance ties and cooperation among the three states. 

Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi, Acting Afghan Foreign Minister Salahuddin Rabbani and Foreign Minister of Pakistan Khawaja Asif will hold in-depth discussions on mutual political trust and reconciliation, developing cooperation and connectivity, security cooperation and counter-terrorism. 

The meeting would build consensus, enhance mutual trust and promote Afghanistan-Pakistan-China ties. 

"As a common neighbour and friend of Afghanistan and Pakistan, China always supports Afghanistan and Pakistan to live in friendship and achieve common development," Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson, Hua Chunying, noted.

The three countries agreed to establish the 'Foreign Ministers' trilateral dialogue' during the Chinese foreign minister's visit to Afghanistan and Pakistan earlier in June.
