US presidential candidate Hillary Clinton on Saturday said that she had raised donations worth a record $154 million in September for the White House against Donald Trump.

Clinton had raised $143 million and Trump $90 million in August. The voting for the presidential elections will take place on November 8 this year.

More than 900,000 people made a donation in September and 2.6 million have donated in total so far, AFP reported the Clinton campaign as saying.

The Trump campaign has not yet released its figures for September.

Trump had said in September that he had contributed nearly $60 million of his own money to the campaign for the White House.

Small donations had helped Trump with 2.1 million people contributing from June to August.

Trump said he received $18 in donations within 24 hours of last week's debate with Clinton.
