British Prime Minister Theresa May warned she expects no "immediate breakthrough" on her Brexit deal at Thursday's EU summit and confirmed she would step down before the 2022 general election.

May on Wednesday survived a confidence vote by her own MPs but lost the support of one-third of her colleagues, signalling the battle she still faces to get her Brexit deal through parliament.
Though she won the backing of 200 Conservative lawmakers, 117 voted to oust her.
Theresa May earlier faced series of resignations from her cabinet ministers over the Brexit deal.
