Boris Johnson says UK will invest $1.25 billion to save endangered species

British Prime Minister Boris Johnson on Monday called for greater global action to tackle climate change and biodiversity loss and announced a $ 1.25 Billion Fund to help save endangered animals like the Black Rhino, African Elephant, Snow Leopard and Sumatran tiger.

The 220-Million-Pound biodiversity fund will also invest in projects to tackle illegal wildlife trade by strengthening law enforcement, training anti-poaching rangers and helping communities find alternative ways to make a living.

Johnson said "there are more U.N. officials than there are lions in the wild in Africa" and joked about feeding Britain's House of Lords to tigers during his remarks at the Climate Action Summit at the United Nations.
