In the wake of antibiotic resistance and a constant birth of new pathogens, Gates stressed the need for the Trump administration to identify the healthcare arsenal that the country sits

Microsoft co-founder Bill Gates warned that the world is heading toward a pandemic and the Trump administration is not doing anything substantial to save the nation or the world from it.

Gates this week, in an interview to a leading American publication, noted that he has been raising the issue with the US President ever since he was elected to power.

Gates noted having repeatedly raised the issue and emphasizing the importance of US funding for advanced healthcare research.

Gates repeated efforts prompted Donald Trump to welcome him to reach out to various top healthcare officials and institutes in the country including the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and the National Institutes of Health (NIH), among others.

After numerous meetings, Gates still thought that there was the need to push the envelope further and initiate more work on developing new therapeutics and drugs.

Time and again, Bill and Melinda Gates have talked about a global pandemic in the offing, something so deadly that can be the greatest threat to humanity.

In the wake of antibiotic resistance and a constant birth of new pathogens, Gates stressed the need for the Trump administration to identify the healthcare arsenal that the country sits on with the availability of scientific expertise and premier institutions like the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the National Institutes of Health (NIH).
