Story highlights

Protests of Belarussians against President Alexander Lukashenko are still going on.

Belarusian police said on Sunday they had used tear gas and stun grenades to disperse "disobedient" protesters in the eastern city of Gomel and prevent them from breaking through the rows of police, Russia`s TASS news agency reported.

Belarusians continue to protest across the country against what they say was a rigged presidential election last month, of which incumbent President Alexander Lukashenko was declared the outright winner.
