US Vice-president Mike Pence’s press secretary has become the second White House staffer to test positive for coronavirus this week.

Earlier, US President Donald Trump's valet had tested positive for the deadly virus after which Trump had announced that he will get tested ''everyday''.

The White House has begun daily testing for Pence and Trump, and has claimed to be taking "every single precaution to protect the president".

The US death toll is now over 76,000 and states are beginning to reopen.

Miller is spokeswoman for Pence, giving her frequent access to high-level meetings.

She is also married to Trump's top aide Stephen Miller, the speech writer behind the administration's hardline immigration measures.
