2 injured in shooting at Southeastern Louisiana University campus

Two people were on Friday injured in shooting near the campus of the Southeastern Louisiana University in Hammond, the university confirmed on Twitter citing the university police.
The university said the incident involved several individuals and that there was no threat to the campus at present.
The incident is being investigated, the university said.

The incident comes amid a national debate over gun control sparked by the killing of 17 students and adults at Florida's Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School on February 14.
