World’s heaviest cable-stayed bridge rotates into position

A road cable-stayed bridge with the world's largest and heaviest span on Tuesday completed its closure after being rotated into position in Baoding City, north China's Hebei Province, further facilitating the transport construction in Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei Region. The bridge, designed with two towers and of prestressed concrete, is to have eight lanes on its 39.7-meter wide deck. With the main bridge being 495 meters long and its span 240 meters, the bridge's total weight being rotated is 81,000 tons.
