WION Edge: Scores of pets blessed in the honour of St. Francis in peru

In honor of St. Francis, patron saint of animals and environment as a whole, mass blessing of pets was carried out in Peru. The ceremony organized prayers for the animals and holy water was sprinkled on their fur, feathers and scales. Each animal was called out by their names while prayers for their good health, healing and relationship with humans was observed.
