Water level goes down but no sign of miners in northeastern India

After days of pumping operations to rescue trapped miners, water level in the illegal rat-hole mine in India's northeastern state has gone down just by one foot, said a fire service official, on Thursday. The rescue efforts in the remote area of Meghalaya state have been continuing for 21 days to no avail as there has been no sign of the missing workers yet and the deep and cold water is still proving to be the biggest obstacle, despite pumping out 130,000 litres of water.
