No elevator for athletes in Eiffel Tower vertical race

Piotr Lobodzinski and Suzy Walsham battled high winds and lashing rain to retain their titles in the Eiffel Tower vertical race on Wednesday. The race in the form of a time trial with departures every 30 seconds saw 130 athletes eschew the elevators to race up the 1,665 steps of the tower, the most visited paid-for monument in the world.
