A world championship surfer had a close encounter with a shark on Wednesday (October 7) in New South Wales, Australia.  The close call was captured by a patrol drone belonging to lifeguards at Sharpes Beach, about 736 km (457 miles) away from Sydney. In the footage, former pro surfer Matt Wilkinson is seen paddling on his surf board when a shark briefly surfaces behind him, then swims away.
