Brexit threatens endangered species breeding progamme, Belgian zoo says

As a no-deal Brexit looms, zookeepers are growing anxious about endangered species populations, such as the okapi, also known as the forest giraffe, which currently enjoys free movement within the European Union. In the EU, around 350 zoos, including Antwerp Zoo in Belgium and Chester Zoo in Britain, are members of the European Association of Zoos and Acquaria (EAZA), which allows free movement of zoo animals throughout the bloc for breeding purposes.
